Project Child Support assists parents in obtaining child support orders that include life insurance policies to secure their child support should a noncustodial parent die. We will seek to have a new or existing child support order that requires custodial parents the ability to monitor or oversee the policy to make sure all life insurance payments are maintained and that policies do not elapse. There is no worse time to learn that a life insurance policy was cancelled than when it’s time to file a claim.

There are different types of policies that can be structured to enable noncustodial parents to receive a repayment of 100% of their policy payments once a child is emancipated.
